PRESENT: CARL FUEHRING, PETE WOOD, HELEN LEFLER, ANITA

MINUTES OF THE JUNE 25,2002 MEETING WERE APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON A MOTION BY STEVE AND SUPPORTED BY PETE, ALL AYE. MOTION PASSED.

SPECIAL USE REQUEST BY ANDY BURSMA:
SU REQUEST FOR A STORAGE BUILDING AT 2232 N. 48TH AVE., MEARS, MI.
THE STORAGE WILL BR FOR CLASSIC CARS, R.V.'S AND BOATS. NO STORAGE OUTSIDE. HOURS ARE SEASONAL, SUPERVISED AND BY APPOINTMENT. NO SIGNS, PROPERTY WILL BE NEAT AND NO ADDITIONAL BUILDINGS WILL BE BUILT. APPROVAL WAS GIVEN FOR A SIMILAR BUSINESS TO JAK'S STORAGE ON 3/27/01, PER SECTION 12:10.

HELEN READ CORRESPONDENCE FROM RANDY AND DODIE STARK INTO THE RECORD. NO OTHER PUBLIC COMMENT.

CARL MOTIONED TO APPROVE THE SU WITH THE INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH AND ITEM #12 & 24 OF XII-SECTION 12.10, LEO SUPPORTED, ALL AYE. MOTION PASSED.

OLD BUSINESS:

RE: BREAKAWAY BAY- CORRESPONDENCE FROM CAROL BURGWALD WAS ENTERED INTO THE MINUTES.

PROPOSED AMNEDMENTS TO THE MASTER PLAN:

PLAN IMPLEMENTATION
- PAGE 21 OF THE MASTER PLAN.
#5- DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGUARDING SEMINARS AND IT WAS DECIDED THAT PROVISIONS SHOULD BE MADE FOR OTHER MEMBERS TO ATTEND.

#7- ESTABLISH GROUNDWATER PROTECTION REGULATIONS- WELL HEAD PROTECTION. REFERING TO ABANDONED WATER WELLS THAT ARE SCATTERED AROUND THE TOWNSHIP, CAP THEM SO THAT CONTAMINANTS DON'T GET DOWN INTO THE AQUAFER. ONE OF THE GOALS SHOULD BE THAT PART OF THE PERMIT PROCESS BE TO NOTIFY THE ZA OF
ABANDONED WELLS ON THE PROPERTY AND THAT THEY ARE PROPERLY CAPPED. IT'S AND AWARENESS ISSUE.

UPDATE ALL THE TABLES IN COMMUNITY PROFILE.

DAVE ROSEMAN WAS ASKED TO SCAN THE MASTER PLAN. HE WOULD LIKE TO SET UP A WEB SITE.

MASTER PLAN MAP- MAKE ACTIVE AG A ZONE OF IT'S OWN AND THEN HAVE A LOW DENSITY AG ZONE , AREAS NOT FARMED.
CHAPTER IX- LIST USES AS DEFINED BY THE RIGHT TO FARM ACT. THE RIGHT TO FARM ACT IS REGULATED BY FEDERAL AND STATE CONTROLS.

HELEN COMMENTED THAT MASON COUNTY HAS A RURAL ESTATES DISTRICT- SIMILAR TO WHAT IS BEING CONTEMPLATED FOR THE LOW DENISTY- THEY DO ALLOW AG IN THAT AREA. OUR MASTER PLAN DOES ADDRESS PRESERVING WOODLANDS FOR TIMBERING AND FOR WILDLIFE HABITAT. YOU WOULD WANT TO HAVE LARGE PARCELS.

PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE ZO-
DEFINE CATAGORIES FOR PERMITTED USES AND SPECIAL USES
DEFINE LARGE SCALE AGRICULTURE BY ACREAGE. THERE ARE 6 OF THOSE FARMERS IN THE TOWNSHIP NOW.

EACH MEMBER IS TO REVIEW THE ZO AND HAVE COMMENTS AT THE AUGUST PUBLIC HEARING.
